Description

Excerpt from Minutes of the Ninth Annual Session of the Columbia Baptist Association: Held With the First Baptist Church, Dothan, Henry County Ala;, October 5th, 6th and 7th, 1893 We your committe beg leave to make the following re port: Dear Bretlieren; there has never been a time in the world's history when there was such a. Demand on the church as to-day. In all our foreign fields there. Is great need for more men and. Women and there are some waiting to go but our Board is in debt and ca inot say go, without the money. Now what are we going to do ilmtlt this? Whosoever hath this world's goods and seeth his brother have need and shutteth up his bowels of compassmn from him how dwelleth the love of God in him? The work of those sacrificing christian's, our missionaries, has been blessed with the ingathering of many souls; yet there are m-ny thousand more who want the gospel that cannot be supplied. Death has made its inroads there. And failing health has driven some from the field, now shall we whom God has so blessed stbp our ears to those cries and close our pocket books against such demands as these? We have all been praying for saving grace but let us now pray fir giving grace so we may send the gospel to those benighted ones in such sore need of it.
