I don't usually pay for many subscriptions but this was too good to pass up with that nice discount. Mighty Ape is unrivaled here in NZ. The customer service and delivery times are unmatched. They really know how to take care of their customers. Best Apes ever!

This is perfect for those wishing to get a taste on the BEST NZ ONLINE STORE out there. The free shipping is soooo helpful. (Just try not to get addicted to online shopping ;)

I would honestly recommend Primate. Such a cheap cost for shipping as many times as you want for as much as you want. You can get a $1 item and still get it for free. In the end Primate is so much cheaper than having to pay shipping each time. I think I have almost well in truly spent the $18 that I paid for Primate just in shipping and I've got another 2 months, 3 weeks to go. ♥

The Primate subscription is a great buy. Now you dont have to worry about not buying something because it dosnt quite make that old $50 free shipping mark. With the Primate subscription you can get whatever you want whenever you want. Great for both those one time deals you see pop up and for planned preorders alike. Awsome value. Youll never have to worry about the delivery costs again

It wasn't until I went to buy a $20 purchase that I discovered the $30 minimum spend. The description on the main page says $10 minimum spend but further into the sign up process that changes to a $30 minimum spend.

Ah! First time being a Primate! Getting ready to shop-to-hell! Over the Christmas and New Years holidays, I'M KEEN! And we get “Unlimited FREE upgrades to Saturday delivery” too-! DUDE! I'm a happy monkey! :D

With no warning, up from $10 min order for free shipping, to $30. Way less useful now. Won't be renewing, and wondering how the change in terms can just be rammed through without a refund offered. $30 min order isn't what I paid for.

I have thought long & hard about doing this review. To put a rating on the subscription isn't as easy as just saying, I saved money, therefore it is good value. I tried to take everything into account & that is the reason for the 3 stars & why the subscription could have been much better value than I found it. The access to Primate Deals I did not find particularly exciting. To be honest I would have expected more, so as to make it more worthwhile subscribing. Most times the daily deals are of much better value. The Saturday delivery option I have checked 4 times. Not once did my order arrive on Saturday, instead arriving on the following Monday. This is despite the fact that all orders were processed way before the 4pm cut-off. Every time I have checked the Signature Required option in the past 6 weeks since moving to a new address, not once have I signed for a delivery – even when I asked, don't I need to sign for this – Now I know that is down to the courier driver themselves, but it does make the option totally meaningless in my situation. The fact that “Andrew” is scrawlled as my signature in the online tracking after delivery, does not impress me at all. Next day (overnight), delivery seems to be rather random. It is not a guaranteed certainty, even in normal situations. Those of you who would say, most of these issues are with NZPost/Courier Post, I wholeheartedly agree. But considering that when you make a purchase through Mighty Ape, the contract is between you & them. They sub-contract the delivery side out to NZ Post. So ultimately Might Ape are responsible for any delivery issues. The Primate Subscription is almost a necessity, given the ludicrous charges for delivery. It is almost unthinkable that someone would willingly purchase an item from Mighty Ape for $14 (Available at Countdown for $13), & pay $11.50 (inc the Signature Required option), for it to be delivered. However with the Primate Subscription, it becomes a more worthwhile purchase. I do however question the charges that are shown on each order – presumably to show how much we are “saving”, by being 'Primates '. Of my orders over the past 3 months, I have “saved”, over $200 on delivery charges. Sounds fantastic, but the simple fact remains that if I had been paying each time for delivery, I would probably not have made any of the purchases I did. Of course Might Ape know this & it works in nicely to their marketing plan. But as I said before, that means the Primate Subscription is a necessity rather than a value option. The Mighty Ape Customer Service still remains the standout feature of all dealings with Mighty Ape. I am not sure how things would have been different if I had not been a “Primate” at the time of our interactions, but I do not believe the service would have been any less than I have always found it to be. To sum up then, I give the Primate Subscription 3 stars because I have been very disappointed in the delivery side of things, & the fact that the subscription is basically something you have to have to make your purchases financially viable.

It's a shame really that there is no longer free shipping with larger value purchases, but in the end I thought I would give Primate a shot.

I think it will pay for itself in the end because I'm now tempted by more impulse purchases of cheap stuff in sales and daily deals that I wouldn't have considered previously because I couldn't make up the order to the free shipping level.

Now if I see something that I like, and the price is right, I don't need to worry about shipping, and with some of the prices of the specials it really is proving to be a good buy!

Since I bought my Primate subscription I've been able to order whatever, whenever. I no longer forget to complete my order, or waste an extra 20–30 mins trawling the site to see what else I might want, or wishlisting items till I have the $50 combined order for free postage. No more combining orders with family & friends to save on postage. Well worth the $50 for the year!

A year's worth of free shipping with free upgrades to Saturday delivery! What more can you ask for. Now you don't have to worry about extra delivery costs etc – you pay only for your items.

I am an avid online shopper and I always purchase from Mighty Ape, it is my favorite online shop. The Primate Subscription is totally worth it, seeing as I buy from Mighty Ape almost every week. I saved up so much money from the delivery fee. I will renew my subscription once it expires. Mighty Ape never ceases to amaze me with their fast and reliable deliveries, superb customer service and immediate response to queries. I always recommend this online shop to my friends. Looking forward to buying more high quality stuff from Mighty Ape!

If you spend as much money at Mighty Ape as I do this is well worth it, I by far got my money back & then a lot more well worth it :)

I only opted for a 3-month subscription because the shipping cost for what I was about to order was almost as much as this subscription and I had more account credit yet to spend so I went for it. Initially I was under the impression that my orders were perhaps given a lesser priority due to Primate, but it was actually just the peak period during Christmas/New Year's which made the orders ship out a little slower than usual. Dispatch has been lightning fast since. Overall a great option if you tend to buy things from MightyApe regularly, which I normally don't. My struggle with MightyApe is that it does not stock many items I would want to buy (e.g. Smartphones are mostly refurbished – so a brand new parallel import alternative is a no-brainer; grocery section does not really have any quality brands/products + anything that's on special there is likely near or past its expiry date; kitchenware of comparable quality can be bought for half the price elsewhere), most of merchandise for sale is – simply put – clutter. Also, anything oversized (furniture and similar) still incurs a big shipping charge, regardless of subscription. However, Primate deals are clearly marked (regardless of your subscription status), so it is easy to see what the price would be with this subscription in place. And the customer service is prompt and friendly.

This Wednesday afternoon my courier stopped by with a package from Mighty Ape… again… he had delivered one that morning, as well as Monday and Tuesday on both his morning and afternoon runs. He laughed at me. This free shipping this is totally awesome, but on the other hand having unlimited free shipping is causing my bank account to display dangerously low amounts. Great service from Mighty Ape, great products, maybe a little too great I'll have my bank manager laughing at me soon for trying to spend money I don't have

Love this. My favourite sibscription ever. I love the free shipping plus i get heads up before major sales so i can get in upto days before everyone else so i get the opportunity to buy things without fear of them selling out super fast lol. Also living semi-rurally i love the option of saturday delivery and free signature signed delivery. Love everything about this service. Never had any compliants or faulty products but even if i did i have full confidence you guys would sort it asap.

The Primate subscription is great. When you had to make the purchase price add up to $50, for free shipping, I was looking around for something else to bring it up to the $50 or else not bothering to buy it. Now I can just buy what I want when I want.

If you think you will spend more than 69.00 on shipping then you should deffinately buy it if you buy every now and then you shouldnt buy it.

This deal the team has put together is great, if your a regular buyer from the site like me, you will see that this is the best option in the long run to save on extra postage costs (which leaves more to spend on other goodies)

At first I didn't think I was going to purchase Primate because I was against the fee increase however since buying Primate I haven't had any regrets. I have made 9 orders since being a Primate member and a good 5 of them being video games $100+ and a few books $30.

I think MightyApe should give you an invoice each 3 months to see how much you've saved on shipping.

Heavily encourages buying things one otherwise wouldn't to justify buying Primate. So may not actually save money, just increase spending on things you don't really need.

The Primate Subscription means that when my daily and other emails pop into my gmail from Mighty Ape and there are only one or a couple of items I want but they would not total to the previous free courier level I can still buy them. Before, buying a $15 item and adding $5 courer charge put me off – now , I see a $12 book, sweet, bang bang pop and it arrives a day later and no 40% courier charge – I will easily make the cost of this subscription back in the first month and more importantly, I can now buy all those little items I crave with a clear conscience!

As I live at a rural address it is going to save me heaps by having a Primate subscription. Previously I would wait until I had a $50 order (to save on postage) but now it doesnt matter!!!!! Unfortunately for my bank account it probably will mean that I order more stuff more often!!!!! LOL

Mighty Ape has delivered excellent service each and every time I have bought something. Fast delivery with no problems so far. Having free shipping is a blessing and a curse (since it sucks you into buying more cause hey – free shipping!) There are also enough benefits and deals specifically for Primate members to make the subscription worth it.

What can one say – this is an incredible offer. Takes away the thought of buying an item and adding the cost to get it to me. The downside is I spend more on items that are a want and not a need. not a bad thing though.

Well worth the price I now find my self ordering anything and everything that I have a interest in and its always delivered to my house the next day which is fantastic.

It may seem a lot of money initially but if you order regularly then it's great value. It also means you can take advantage of the daily deals without worrying about postage costs bumping up the price (with no minimum order value for free postage).

Not much more to say really. If you order a lot, you save money; and even if you're not sure if you'll save then the worry of shipping has gone (and you can always order for your friends and be a mighty Mighty Ape customer). Just be an aware shopper and check prices and not get into the ‘free’ delivery trap because you've paid up-front.

I found after buying 14 separate orders in the last couple of months that shipping was at $54.60, almost the price of a “Primate Subscription”… Getting this earlier would of meant that would of been all I would of had to pay, an still been able to order more [: If you see yourself ordering multiple things off Mightyape… I would highly recommend purchasing this.

Roughly it took me 3 months of free delivery (yea I buy a lot) to pay for the mighty ape subscription, if you use the site frequently it makes total sense.

Little upset that they raised the bar to $10 and upwards only for free shipping. I used to send little $5 orders to my friends with drinks or confectionary in them to cheer them up, but now I have to spend more to get it free. Not sure if this is a result of lockdown or Mighty Ape recently being bought by greedy Aussies, but it's a little sad. Don't get me wrong, though. It's still a very good deal, considering it costs less to get a 12 month membership than to not get a membership and get something massive delivered to your door.

I've really liked this 3 month Primate subscription. I've just started a Warhammer project, and having the unlimited free shipping means I can add on new paints whenever I need them (instead of buying a whole lot I might not even need to use).

I don't buy enough stuff to justify a yearly subscription, so this one works well to make a lot of purchases for a few months before easing off. It is easy to keep spending with free shipping though, so practice that self-control!

Buying a 3 month subscription at this time of year has really paid off. Christmas and end of year birthday presents sorted, fantastic choice, excellent prices and quick postage ( we are rural too), so I can honestly say it’s been a great investment.

I am enjoying the Primate to the max : ) One thing I thought you guys can do is when multiple orders are placed by the same customer within a few hours apart in the same day before cut off time perhaps you can combine them into one pack to save on shipping at your end. Imagine having to pay for postage every time you place an order, horrible isn’t it. This gives you the chance to buy one small item today, another tomorrow and a huge one next week without paying individual postage on each order you make. So why waste your money on postage when you can waste it on this instead, it’s way better

I make plenty of orders throughout the year and this will help reduce costs whilst still being one of the fastest shipping/processing for online stores. It is well worth the price if you are a frequent buyer.

I would recommend this to anyone who makes purchases from Mighty Ape regularly. Since Prime Ape covers over sized shipping, signature required and even Saturday delivery, it makes it more convenient and often cheaper than purchasing the items from a store. I buy most Christmas and birthday presents from Mighty Ape and this has already saved me a lot of money on shipping.

Very happy with my subscription, I think they are valued well.

I live in the country and shipping works out at around $6 per ship. So after 3 purchases it pays for itself. I have recently been in the process of moving out and needed the odd piece of equipment so paid for itself at least twice now and haven't even burnt through the first month yet.

I cannot fault the service I constantly recieve with the helpful apes at Mightyape. I am rural south island and I either get my parcels the very next day or the day after. Exceptional! Everything is always well packed and when I have been looking for a certain product they are always fast to respond and assist. Getting the Primate subscription has saved me money as I can but little things when they are on special instead of waiting until there are several things. Fantastic! Keep up the great work!

I considered the shipping price on an order, and thought I'd try this. As it turns out I love it. I grab the items I need, checkout, and everything is done hassle free, and I get free shipping!

It's really easy, you order as normal, and the shipping charges are automatically deducted. It's so super cool, and even more fun than peeling a banana! I'm so happy with this subscription.

You can just be casual spenders who shops two or three things a month and the money will pay for itself already.

Purchased this on day one over a year ago, I have worked out that over a years postage from my purchases I have saved over $80. No rural delivery charge and items are sent straight away. No waiting for combined delivery. Very happy and well worth the price.

I first thought, “How rude!” Cheeky lot to suggest that they can get away with this. But then I had a think about it and realised that it gave me the freedom to order what I want.

It doesn't save you on the big orders, but the little ones. You see a DVD for $10, you buy it without worrying about the postage. The Daily Deals are just a mouse click away for you to get a Mighty Ape package at your doorstep. You don't have to worry about the size of the order and calculating out the final cost is simple. Just the cost of the item and ignore any postage costs.

Only problem is that you might order more than normal. But at least you won't have to worry about the postage.

I think my subscription has already paid for itself more than once as I am a regular Mighty Ape purchaser. I highly recommend this option! Be Prime!

Because I am a big fan of mighty ape daily deals. I may purchase an item at least every 1–2 weeks. I can place orders as often as I like without having to worry about additional delivery costs :)

But Saturday delivery that ACTUALLY arrives on a Saturday would be nice.

I was a little dissapointed when I first found out that Mighty Ape were doing away with the free shipping but the Primate is actually really good for me and ties in great with there daily offers. Now I can buy just what I want when I want it without feeling that I need to make it upto $50+ with things I maybe don't need so much to get the free shipping. At the offer price of $50 I think it's actually going to work out really good value for me. Much more would be a bit steep so please Mr Ape, don't put the price up for us loyal primate fans ;-)

Order a product on Thursday for Saturday delivery so it would arrive on birthday. Saturday been and gone no parcel – still sitting at the depot and can't collect as no phone number to ring. Very disappointed and not worth sending $18 bucks on.

It worked when bought with other products, however I've made another order on the same day and later on realised that I was charged for postage. Not impressed that it takes 24 hours to activate, can't it be activated automatically-

Aside from the one ‘lie’ in place, Primate is a very good and useful service. BUT, Mighty Ape's description does lie. It says unlimited free shipping on ALL your orders. I haven't worked out how much I have saved being a “Primate” but I know It's a lot of money. I purchased three months but will buy 12 months when It's comes due in December. So there's no charge per delivery AND there's No charge for Saturday delivery as well! It's well worth it.

I only opted for a 3-month subscription because the shipping cost for what I was about to order was almost as much as this subscription and I had more account credit yet to spend so I went for it. Initially I was under the impression that my orders were perhaps given a lesser priority due to Primate, but it was actually just the peak period during Christmas/New Year's which made the orders ship out a little slower than usual. Dispatch has been lightning fast since. Overall a great option if you tend to buy things from MightyApe regularly, which I normally don't. My struggle with MightyApe is that it does not stock many items I would want to buy (e.g. Smartphones are mostly refurbished – so a brand new parallel import alternative is a no-brainer; grocery section does not really have any quality brands/products + anything that's on special there is likely near or past its expiry date; kitchenware of comparable quality can be bought for half the price elsewhere), most of merchandise for sale is – simply put – clutter. Also, anything oversized (furniture and similar) still incurs a big shipping charge, regardless of subscription. However, Primate deals are clearly marked (regardless of your subscription status), so it is easy to see what the price would be with this subscription in place. And the customer service is prompt and friendly.

Your changes to only allow 2 payment options means less choice and the fact you say “We’ve made this change to make it easier for you to maintain an active Primate membership” for this change is just pure garbage, it means I now have to do a separate order to get this rather than, how is that easier in any way, shape or form?

I've purchased more products from Mighty Ape, than any other retailer this year – bar Supermarkets. I'd steadily wasted over $50 in shipping costs before I realized: A) I'm a fiend for this site & B) This subscription's gon­na save me hella bux!

Becoming a Primate was initially about saving on delivery cost but its much more than that. Over my initial 3 month subscription I discovered there were Primate specials and early access to some sales. The surprising benefit that made me jump to the 12 month subscription was the convenience. It was literally faster and cheaper for me to shop at mighty ape than to head into town. Mostly because the super fast delivery and excellent pricing I also found I could pick up cheap items without paying more for delivery than the item itself. Epic value if you are a regular customer. You get free shipping which usually ends up cheaper over the subscription. You also get upgraded weekend delivery and extra low sales/special prices on products only available to those with primate.

After just a couple orders you'll have made up the amount you spent on your primate subscription. And since shipping is essentially free after that, you have no reason to hesitate when the great sale or daily deal comes along, or when something on your wishlist is on sale

All I can say about Mighty Ape's Primate subscription service is that it's amazing. I order from Mighty Ape nearly every week now and I've already saved a lot on shipping! It's definitely worth the purchase if you're going to be ordering a few products from here.

I have been ordering a lot recently on Mighty Ape. And I wish I had considered Primate much sooner. Even at the cheaper rate of $18 for a 3 month subscription would have saved me money when I ordered my PS4 a while ago, oversize items, signature required and Saturday delivery are all free add one with Primate. Not to mention UNLIMITED deliveries, FOR FREE for your entire subscription period. I managed to build my PC over my Christmas holidays with the parts arriving in 4 orders and it only cost me $18 for all of those deliveries plus Christmas presents. It literally pays for itself and then some, it's worth getting for anyone who sees themselves making several orders over time with Mighty Ape. And on a side note, Might Ape do price matching so couple that with free delivery and you've got the best prices in NZ available here.

Cost me $18 and within 2 weeks of buying the subscription, I have almost made my moneys worth in savings.

I love being able to nab that one item on sale, I usually like buying more than one thing at a time to capitalize on postage, but I don't need to with this fab subscription.

Absolutely fantastic deal as I live rural and postage is so much more expensive compared to town addresses. I have made many orders which would normally have cost me $115 in postage but with primate's $48 sub for 1 year I have saved $67 and I still have 2 months to go which will increase dramatically with all the Xmas shopping I still have to do. If you are a regular shopper on mighty ape it is 110% worth it. I buy a lot and saved $300+ in 3 months on shipping (yes I know I have a problem) plus they pack there stuff well

Primate is such a good deal! Very worth it and makes shopping that much easier when you don't have to worry about shipping fees! The only bad thing (if you can call it that), is that you will want to spend more all the time since shipping fees are no longer a deterrent. Very worth it, would buy again!

A great way not to ever worry about paying shipping each time, especially with products that can't be shipped on the same day. You will get each product as soon as it is ready… No extra fee. With the purchases I have already made this month and my preorders (of games) that are on the way, I know I will end up saving loads of money.

Its not just the years free postage, Saturday upgrades et al… its the Primate-only discounts and the early access to sales and the like. A must have for anyone who shops here on a semi-regular basis
