The great fact of subjective Christianity is Union with Christ whereby we receive the Atone ment. To secure this personal union with Christ by faith is the main aim of preaching, for it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. It was a frequent remark of Professor Park to his pupils that the divine origin of the religion of Christ was proved by the wisdom evinced in the choice of so simple an agency for so vast a result.
