Hugo Bergstrom was born in London in 1928, the second son of the opera singers Carl Bertram and Harriett Harcourt (stage names). Hugo's mother died when he was two, and his father and grandmother then looked after him. In 1935, Hugo was sent tO the Actor's Orphanage in Langley. This is his fascinating account of his orphanage years.
