In exchange for information covering their own small community, they receive a report that condenses into usable form the Operations of thousands of farmers in other parts of the country-farmers who are competing with them.for the Nation's markets. Some of these crop reporters have been mailing their schedules to the Department of Agriculture for fifty years or more. And frequently the title of crop reporter is passed down from father to son.
