Description

Excerpt from Marketing Activities, Vol. 19: March 1956 In one test they found that a combination display of bagged and bulk apples, priced in 5-pound units, increased apples sales 75 percent. Sales increased still further when the bagged apples were offered in varying weights of 2 to 6 pounds. The increased sales apparently resulted from the added variety. Some customers preferred to select apples from bulk displays, others preferred the convenience of bags. Maximum sales were achieved by satisfying both types of customers.
