"Wicked but hard"
4 stars"

You might be thinking, oh, this is just a pinball game, soon I will be its master, but it's suprisingly hard – at some points, frustratingly so. First of all, lil pinball-head mario moves really fast. Second, once you kill the enemies on the screen and collect the star, they come back! They just won't die! Third, to get to the next screen, you have to slam the door on your way up with pinball-mario, and then get back up there before time runs out. You don't automatically die when time runs out, but after just 30 secs on each screen the little blue pipe that blocks the exit disappears, and so if you accidentally shoot mario straight down the middle, you lose a life.

The graphics are awesome, think classic NES style happy colours but good. The music is exactly what you expect from a Nintendo game, i.e. cool at first, may eventually drive you mental. The characters, both friends and enemies, are wicked cute, updated versions from Super Mario like those killer plant things and turtles – called pookatroopers?

The story is pretty lame but who cares – toad is unveiling a cannon that can shoot you into the other mushroom kingdom realms, when horrors! princess pinko gets kidnapped. Princess pinky has been getting kidnapped since the 1980s, you'd think nobody would care anymore, but Nintendo is very proud of its only plotline and will use it forever!

Anyway, this game is pretty fun, if not genius, and it also has a time attack mode where you can try to do each level stupid quick.

If you ever wished that it was a tiny version of your head hitting those bumpers instead of that shiny silver ball, then this game is for you:)

Description

The new adventure sees Mario enter a new and exciting pinball world, his aim to capture his beloved Princess Peach - kidnapped by Bowser and taken to this other dimension. A scientist uses his 'Spherifier' machine to transform Mario into a ball and fire him off to destroy the fiend and save his love. Mario then enters the arena in which all the action commences, combining both adventuring and pinball together! Choose your very own path through the varied environments of the Mushroom Kingdom, fighting off familiar enemies and collecting coins as you go. Each of the many environments, which range from a fairground to the countryside, have their own specific enemies for you to defeat and different features to explore. You will encounter many all-time classic Mario power-ups along the way, including the Super Mushroom, 1-Up Mushroom, Invincibility Star and Lightning Bolt. In true pinball style, the more enemies you fight off in quick succession, the more high scores you will amass. Control Mario through a set of flippers that appear at the bottom of each arena. Each arena takes up a single screen but by flipping Mario into certain doorways you can open special exits leading you straight to a new Boss. Make sure Mario doesn't fall through the flippers though, as this will send him backwards in the game or even to his defeat.
