A number of books have been written relating to congenital heart disease, but generally, they reflect individualized medical management of local practice and philosophies. Although this manual assumes a prior working knowledge of congenital heart disease, it aims to provide the reader with a reference guide to be utilized at the bedside. The main aspiration of the book is to provide a comprehensive, affordable guide for paediatric, neonatal and adult nurses of young people with congenital heart disease, in this highly challenging speciality. This book is primarily written for nursing staff focusing on a multidisciplinary team approach to managing children. It should also be a valuable tool for community staff, dieticians, doctors, neonatal staff, perfusionists, pharmacists, physiological measurement technicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, theatre staff, and other personnel who come into contact with this group of children.
