Lotte Custard Cream Cakes (6pk) reviews

I was a little bit so-so about trying these, but they taste great. They're a moist little vanilla sponge with some mock custard crème filling and all they key flavours get through. They taste fresh and unlike Twinkie's they avoid having a chemical/highly processed after-taste or tasting like lard. Plus they make for a great lunch box filler for that unhealthy afternoon snack.

I bought these because I wanted a sweet treat that wasn't so rich and it was just what I wanted. They have this creamy, lightly sweetened centre. They don't taste like traditional custard, but that wasn't important for me. Delicious.

If you aren't a fan of custard, don't worry, they are more cream than custard in taste. The sponge was a bit dry, but then still made for a good treat to have with a cuppa. Was a first time buy and would buy again as they didn't have a strong flavor and no chocolate which makes a change. Recommend.

I was worried after having the marshmallow cakes from Lotte that the custard cakes might be a bit too dry as well, but they were amazing~! The custard is so light and it matches the sponge perfectly. Such a nice treat!
