"A good mouse"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This my second m705 logitech marathon. My first mouse was a gift from someone who had been using their own marathon for a while. My own lasted a long time before the receiving usb stopped working (in hindsight you might be able to purchase a spare from logitech nz). The good (why I bought a second): the batteries last a really long time (even when I forgot to turn the mouse off), the mouse often (very often) became a flying mouse when I moved my laptop (yet this never reflected in its performance), the two buttons on the left side are well placed, programmable, easy to use, and really, really easy to get used to, the fast and slow scroll speeds on the wheel are very useful, the mouse feels good and is easy to use with my extra large women's/ large men's hand, the response from the clicking and moving of the mouse is very accurate, the mouse works on most surfaces, it's possible to store the usb inside the bottom of the mouse with the batteries), and finally the materials make it feel nice in the hand. The not so good (what I wish logitech would improve): the ability to give the mouse a proper clean (it's impossible to unscrew the mouse to clean the internals without damaging the mouse, the closest you can get to the laser is wiping it from the outside, and there is a little gap between the laser and the edge of the mouse (obviously), that can allow the build up of gunk, which is difficult to remove/ clean), the rubber type stuff on the sides of the mouse wear away first (my advice regarding cleaning would be to use a cloth with a gentle, gentle soap), the ‘click’ from the left and right pointer buttons (on top of the mouse) might be loud for some (it doesn't bother me, to me it sounds only slightly louder than the typing on a keyboard). These suggested improvements only occurred a while after using my previous marathon. Overall I'm happy with the logitech marathon, and it is the mouse I would advise and buy for others.

"Comfortable and Useful (battery life)"

Nice mouse. I would recommend using a mousepad as it travels better on one than a desk surface. Great features (scrolling is easy) and battery life is a major +.

"Excellent Mouse would recommend"
4 stars"

This is an excellent Mouse and I'm very satisfied with it. My original did break after just over a year however it was covered under warranty and it was replaced. In conclusion very comfortable Mouse, a delight to use, minor issue quickly corrected. 4.5 stars.

"Easy to use ... Very happy!!"

Easy to use … Didn't expect a possible improvement but very happy with my new mouse.

"Bought 2, both failed within 3 years."

Awesome mouse all round, good response, comfort and weight. The issue that I've had is that I've bought 2 and in both cases the right click button wears out around the 3 year mark stops responding, essentially making it useless. Won't be buying a third one, that's for sure.

"Fantastic, hefty, accurate"

Really pleasant, couldn't really fault it. My only issue is that it's a bit too big – if you've got smaller hands, it might be worth bearing in mind.

"Great office mouse"
5 stars"

This is a really good mouse. It works well on any surface (well – most common ones like paper, wood, laminate desks tops etc). It's comfortable to use and the buttons are (for me anyway) well-placed so there are very few accidental clicks back, forward or cancel.

"Ergonomic and fast"
5 stars"

This mouse is extremely accurate and easy to use and install. It fits great in the hand, and the ability to button map things like copy and paste make doing work much quicker. An awesome alternative for people who want a great mouse but find Logitech's top of the range mouses a tad too expensive.

"Better than the M700 for battery life..."
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Logitech make nice mice, but their M700, although solid, with extras, those extras ate up the battery life, a single AA rechargeable, down to about 8 – 9 hours use. However it did have a plug in cord that recharged the mouse and you could use it, too.

However, the G705 is basically the same shape, minus a few extra buttons that the G700 has, but Logitech have stretched the battery life to over 1,000 hourse (in theory). The scroll wheel can be set to free wheel (whizzo) or stepped (sensible), it's the same on both the M700 & M705.

The two AA alkaline batteries gives added weight to the M700, which suits my mousing. The unified wireless dongle works well with mouse and a Logitech keyboard I already had.

The M705 comes with no software and little info where to down load it, but I had already downloaded suitable software from logitech.com for the M700 and that works okay. The M705 was recognised, but the keyboard required re registration, which is done via the Logitech ap popup.

Everyone has their own mouse preference, but it's a never-ending quest to find the perfect rodent. The M705 is half the price of the M700 which came in a box worth a third of the price of that mouse, I reckon. The M705 was in plastic, but it had an escape hatch, which I'd never seen before in such packaging.

With the little experience I've had with the M705, so far, I'd rate it 8/10, but 10/10 for battery life.

"I love these mice"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Simply put I really like these mice, this is my second one (the old one is still going strong, just my gf has taken it over).

The three thumb buttons are easy to use and plenty for most gamers needs (as a gamer myself). There is the two usual ones plus the whole side is a button two, you'll get the idea if you use one. Reprogrammed via the simple well integrated Logitech software.

The scroller switches between extremely free spin to click mode which is quite handy. Just make sure you lock it down in games or you'll be wtfing over random weapon switches or whatever, but the free mode is handy for long web pages and documents.

The batteries last a very long time, with just two standard AAs.

"Excellent, reliable mouse."
4 stars"

This mouse is ultra-responsive and reliable. It has a bit of weight to it so it doesn't feel too “loose” or flimsy, you're in control the whole time. Definitely use a mousepad for best performance.

Only minus – the scroll wheel is looser than I'm used to. There's no resistance at all, so the slightest brush with a finger causes it to move. You get used to it after a week or so of use but it isn't completely ideal.
