When no other ecclesiastic, either of the old church or the reformed, could be found to marry the Queen to the Earl ofbothwel], Sir John Bellenden suborned Adam, Bishop of Orkney, who was also a Lord of Session, to perform the unhallowed ofiice, at the which he preached a sermon from the second chapter of Genesis.
