Description

The story of Owen Morgan, a junior doctor trying to find his feet in the modern NHS. Unfortunately he is peculiarly ill-equipped to survive the demands of the ever changing world of hospital medicine, his feisty Indian wife, his two sons and their tumultuous home life.

Author Biography:

West Glamorgan author Gwyn Williams has first-hand experience of working in the modern NHS himself. On his incentive for writing the novel, Gwyn explained, Junior doctors are very much in the news at the moment as Jeremy Hunt and the Tory government tries to reorganise the medical profession and squeeze yet more out of an overstretched band of doctors attempting to keep the NHS functional. Politicians and their plans have always affected the lives of those junior doctors in more considerable ways than the public imagine, with the disastrous reorganisation of training in 2007 introduced by the Labour government marking a particularly low point in relations between the government and the medical profession.
