Author Biography:
Nathan Hale Williams is an award-winning filmmaker (Dirty Laundry & 90 DAYS), producer, entertainment attorney and television personality. A former Essence magazine columnist, Nathan is the co-author of "Inspiration: Profiles of Black Women Changing Our World" and contributing author of "For Colored Boys...," which won the American Library Association's Stonewall Award for Non-Fiction Book of the Year. Nathan starred in Sundance Channel's #1 rated original series, "Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys" as well as Showtime's "American Candidate." He also produced: The Ski Trip (MTV Networks); My Model Looks Better Than Your Model; Leading Men; and, Leading Women (NAACP Image Award Nomination) (BET). Nathan has directed, INSIDE: Black Culture as well as commercials for Isabella Fiore Handbags (starring Veronica Webb); Jumpstart (starring LL Cool J); and, the United States CDC's "Testing Makes Us Stronger" campaign starring the Real Housewives of Atlanta. As a producer and celebrity journalist, Nathan has had the pleasure of interviewing countless celebrities including, Oprah Winfrey, Janet Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, and John Legend, to name a few. As a personality/actor, Nathan has starred in Showtime's American Candidate, CBS' Guiding Light, Centric's My Two Cents and The Bev Smith Show. He has been featured in the New York Times, the LA Times, the Chicago Tribune's Red Eye (Cover), New York Magazine, the New York Post, US Weekly, Star Magazine, Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, Black Enterprise, Crain's, Ebony and Jet. He recently moved to Los Angeles after living in Harlem, New York for fifteen years.
