Excerpt from Journal of the Senate of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Begun and Held in the Town of Frankfort, on Monday, the Fourth Day of December in the Year of Our Lord 1865, and of the Commonwealth the Seventy-Fourth Mr. Helm nominated Dr. J. Russell Hawkins as a proper person to fill the office of Secretary of the Senate. There being no other nomination, Mr. Hawkins was declared elect ed Secretary of the Senate during the present session. Mr. Botts nominated Mr. David P. Robb, of Woodford county, as a proper person to fill the office of Assistant Secretary of the Senate. Mr. Patrick nominated Mr. John Seaton, of Greenup, for the same office.
