Hour of Victory is billed as a game that allows one to play in different styles, Assault, Subterfuge or Sniping. Each method is meant to be unique and varied, allowing for the much desired replay-ability. In the end I'm not sure if I'd even play the game once…
Now I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big fan of FPS games on consoles. A mouse and WASD offers such control that console versions feel awkward and clumsy. There are of course exceptions to this, as anyone who owns Rainbow: Vegas will attest to. However I just don't feel this game delivers the goods on the 360. There's nothing in this game that hasn't been done before. WW2? Been done, and from the demo feel, its been done better.
Graphics – Next Generation. There is alot of detail in the battles. However the enemies, and even oneself, has a slightly cartoonish feel. Sound – Had a little trouble hearing what people were saying. But turning up volume meant deafening explosions. Gameplay – Bad guys had very little creativity when engaged. They didn't run at me to die easily, but they just sat behind cover. I also didn't feel there was anything special in the three methods of approach. You could go Assault using any soldier.
Overall. I wasn't impressed.
