Description

Sydney Shanks has never run from trouble and she's not going to start now. With plans for an art center underway and her divorce final, she's got everything to gain. But with her vengeful ex-husband Russell Reck, out of jail, she's also got a lot to lose-including her life. Haunted by his past mistakes, Alec Porter is looking for redemption when he begins testing new flight software designed to save lives. Then an unexpected crash puts him into direct contact with Sydney. Though she insists she doesn't need him to protect her from Reck, Alec is determined to convince her that he's not the bad boy she remembers- and, for once, to keep her safe. But Reek's plans for Sydney are more dangerous than either of them imagined-and the passion that simmers between Alec and Sydney is too explosive to deny. Racing against the clock to save Sydney's life, Alec will face the ultimate sacrifice-and Sydney will discover everything she's risked in... THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT.

Author Biography:

Given her background, it's no wonder Olga Bicos is a suspense novelist now-intrigue has run rampant in her life. Born in Cuba, she and her parents fled to the United States when Olga was just five years old. Her uncle, however, was part of an underground organization attempting to overthrow Castro. He was captured and held as a political prisoner for 15 years. Growing up, Olga was deeply influenced by her family's history. It fostered in her a need for justice that eventually led her to Boalt Hall, School of Law, at the University of California at Berkeley. She graduated hoping to pursue a career in international relations law, but went instead to an entertainment law firm in Los Angeles. Eventually she left to raise her children and to begin her writing career. She started out writing historical romances, five in all, and then moved on to suspense. Praise for Olga Bicos "A sensual, fiery novel...a hero to die for, a heroine of fierce independence... an unforgettable love story!" -Susan Johnson (By My Heart Betrayed) "A terrific writer who knows how to keep the reader turning the pages." -Amanda Quick (By My Heart Betrayed)
