Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary previews

Halo: Anniversary is most definitely a game to buy this Spring for all gamers, particularly the old Halo veterans. With the fact that the gameplay is remained untouched (heck, with classic mode, you're experiencing the same game from 2001) although this time with the additions of achievements and a new co-op multiplayer system to make it all the better.

If you're a new player, now's your chance to travel back in time to discover how the extremely popular Halo series truly started out so that you may have a greater understanding of how the concept of Halo initiated. On the other side, if you're a Halo veteran (or just an average Halo player), you will undoubtedly enjoy this nostalgic experience from 10 years ago.

In addition to these wonderful factors, with a price this low, there's virtually no reason whatsoever for you to not buy this game.

Those were the days, kicking back on the couch with your best mates with coke and chips on the table. Smart remarks to one another on who was going to win the next firefight. Of course, you teamed up with the guy beside you, and, most of us screened looked.

With all these memories coming back, I am highly anticipating the release of CE Anniversary. Time to take on my old friends and see who will come out on top. With the New and Old look integrated I will use this for half the time I play. Switching back to the old graphics to bring me back those memories.

I recommend this for anyone who was there from the start, all the way through to Reach. And even those CoD and Battlefield guys.

I recommend any to everyone to is going to buy this game, go find your old copy of Halo C.E, like I did. And play it. It brings back memories that were indeed lost in newer games. The respect you will have for it will pass through to this new version. Halo C.E.A Will blow your mind.

After 10 years of living the game, this is going to be so Awesome, for the new guys on the block, this is where it all started and you are very privileged to go back 10 years and play with today's advan­cements.

Replaying the original after 10 years is just out there & the new version will be for the seasoned players something very special.

Just received the Halo Reach update last night, so get ready for the new Reach Betta Engine to test out all the new online maps coming our ways, so get online and have some fun!

Should be awesome as the original release was. The original campaign is still on the Halo 1 engine and the multiplayer is on the Halo Reach engine so that is quite good. And you can press the back button to change the graphics from the old/original to the new HD!! and the gameplay is exactly the same! Sweet.

I hope 343 does the series justice.

From what I've seen this games campaign should be just as it was back in 2001 which I loved to bits back then. BUT, from a multiplayer point of view it looks a lot like reach and not like halo 1. They have put in jet packs, armour lock and all that stuff AND THEY DOWNGRADED THE PISTOL. Hopefully they have an old school playlist with none of that reach stuff.

This game is close to release and I highly recommend buying this one. With the redesigned campaign and remade multiplayer maps this is going to be amazing.

Halo: CE was an amazing game – the in-depth campaign, the gameplay and graphics for 2001 and the multiplayer was mind-blowingly fun. Taking all of that and putting it in HD was like a god's gift. Whether or not you've played Halo: CE (Or any Halo game – but who hasn't-), pick up a copy of Anniversary. You won't regret it.

I remember when the Halo: CE remake was first hinted at. I was wondering “how will they do it-” Would they remaster it- put it on a new engine- Nerf the beloved pistol-

But no. 343 has proved their worth as a game development studio by keeping it exactly the same. They haven't put it on a new engine, they haven't nerfed the pistol (thank god), but they have updated the graphics, which is something that I really endorse. Halo: CE had some really beautiful environments and locations, and seeing these in HD with remastered graphics is something I cannot describe in words, but merely with blissful grunts and squealing noises.

When this game comes out it's safe to say that I won't see the light of day (I made a rhyme!) for a very long time.

Also I can't wait to press the BACK button.

This is the game that got me and so many others started on First Person Shooters. Hopefully 343 Industries will make this game as great as the original. Bring on Halo in High Definition!!!

I am so keen for this, best halo game ever

This game is going to be epic, the original game was great and I love how you can switch between the graphics and that the gameplay hasnt been changed......­.OVERPOWERED PISTOL!!!!

Remember the day Halo Combat was first released with the over powered magnum, the outrageously big assault rifle and that old one gunned covenant drop ship. Well it is all coming back in the form of Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. This is a must have of XBOX 360.

First game ever played, best halo game out of series and now its back and now in HD the price holy f**k. But the only problem is that all the halo ce maps you get for this game you can download for halo reach which is sort of a bummer. But who cares it going to be awesome as it was.

To finally get to replay halo with the updated graphics and in HD is something I have wanted for a long time now, ive played the origional several times now, and I still cant get enough of it!

Really don't have to say much, but bringing back a classic game and adding a few touches to keep up the graphics in our days is brilliant. I'm looking forward to playing this like I did years ago!!!!

I always thought the first halo had the best storylane and gameplay other than graphics but remastered will surely be epic!!!!

I can't wait i'm so going to preorder I am a big halo fanboy and i'm confident that 343 industries. Will master halo aniversarry.

I was a little too young to get into Halo back in 2001, and ended up starting with Halo 3 – which obviously made very little sense.

I then got Halo CE on PC, and eventually managed to play through Halo 2 on a friend's old Xbox.

I've always wanted to play through the original the way the other titles were played – with a controller. Now, thanks to 343 Industries, I'm getting the chance – and with infinitely improved graphics to boot!

For those complaining about the multiplayer experience looking too similar to Reach, I can reassure you – it IS Reach. It was the logical way to go, given the age of CE's multiplayer frameworks. Because it's Reach-based, playing on Anniversary will maintain all your hard-earned armour and accessories, whilst giving you 6 newly rebuilt classic maps to enjoy.

I can't wait!

Its just going to be Halo Reach with different maps and less weapons. Halo : Combat Evolved was great, and so was reach but this is just going to be reach again.

A while ago i sold my 360 to get a ps3 to play COD with my flatmates, since seeing that this is coming i have brought another 360 and i will definitely be buying this.. just what i need to get back into Halo again! poor ps3 will be gathering dust come November 15th!
