The preview event was excellent, new pvp combat includes up to 12 per side as opposed to 8 in Guild Wars, as well as co-operative and competitive missions with your guilds ‘allied guild’.. sparring is available for guild members, there are now npcs such as Storage, Merchant and Priest of Balthazar in the guild hall… also a new Vault Keeper, which acts as a guild-wide storage facility. Individual members can now earn elite titles, such as ‘Champion’, or ‘Explorer’, champion for pvp excellence and explorer for going out of your way to explore as much of the map as possible. there are many new elite (and non-elite) skills available for each of the previous professions, as well as many for the two new classes.. should be great! i for one can't wait ^^

I also played during the preview weekend, which was good because I got the chance to see some of the new gameplay which was outstanding. Factions has alot more features than guildwars (alot of new pvp arenas/scenarios) and farming areas. I think another reason for buying the collectors edition is that you get 2 extra character slots which is always good.
Having played the trial weekend of Factions I must say that I really liked it and I expect I will buy the game. However, 40 dollars extra for a tea towel, a calendar and a mouse mat seems pretty steep – think I will stay away from the CE.
