Set in rural England in the 1950s. Protagonist is a vicar who fought in WWII and still somewhat haunted by what he saw. He has a talent for spotting the solution to the weekly murder and a complicated love life. Good stories, good characters, good to watch.

Grantchester stands firmly in a long and distinguished tradition of quality British crime drama. Capturing the period flavour of the 50s perfectly in its attention to detail, good storylines and excellent acting make this a series that is worth more than one viewing. Highly recommended.
Loved the character development, good plots and interesting theme's running through. Quality British drama.
A well-told series set in Cambridge (UK) shortly after the end of the Second World War. The twist is the main detective is an Anglian priest who also happens to be a returned soldier. In parallel with the crimes solved there's an unfolding story of life as the war ends and normal existence is resumed.
