Somewhere I read, "Rooster today, feather duster tomorrow." I guess I've been a rooster. Now that I'm the latter perhaps I can be useful by dusting off some of the old memories. Grandpa Cliff reaches back into the days of his childhood and paints a colorful picture of the days of the Great Depression and how it impacted the Leary family of rural Wisconsin. It may have been a hardscrabble life, but if you were one of the nine Leary kids, you grew up with loving parents and always knew that you'd be able to pull through no matter how difficult the circumstances. For a mischievous child, life on the farm provided endless opportunities for learning lessons while also having a hay-load of fun. So let us return to the days of milking the cows, feeding the chickens, Model T Fords, and pickle dances.
