Google Pixel 7 Pro (128GB/ 12GB RAM) reviews

Pretty good phone takes a bit to get it to work with the internet had to change the I.P to a static I.P to get it to work other than that it's a great phone. Has a lot of great functions if you like to take pictures.

For anyone wondering, this phone is fantastic and if you join the Android 14 Beta this will work with NZ 5G networks (tried spark and Vodafone)

No doubt the google pixel 7 pro is a great phone, plus its ultra-great and speckless camera, beating my iPhone 13 Pro to nothing. Generally, it was a very good shopping experience. I like it.

TLDR; Not all Pixel exclusive features are available in NZ. However its still jam packed with features and seamless experiences. If we were in the US or the features arrive in NZ 5/5. It should be your top pick.

Display; 4/5 Not the brightest or sharpest but more than enough 99% of the time

Battery; 4/5 More than enough run time but not industry leading

OS; 5/5 Leading the pack in many ways even while missing some of its first class features.

Unlock; 4/5 Slow fingerprint reader, Superquick FaceID

Design; 4/5 Plain black doesn't stand out but its a safe look. Glass can be slippery. Phone sits evenly on a surface because of the camera bump, no wobble. The slight elevation makes it easy to pick up. Dbrand skin for extra grip or visual flair if needed.

First Impressions; Negatives; It truly is a great phone at a decent price point. However, A lot of the google features that you're probably looking for in this phone are not available in NZ. Because its imported, No 5g. Google also doesn't support NZ for a lot of the BIG assistant features like; Hold for me, Direct my Call, Wait Times and Call Screening. Most can be fixed in a never announced software update. But at this stage, If you make and receive a lot of phone calls, Its not worth branching out on the hope google will add support.

The ‘Ehh’ ; I found the animations a little slow. But jumping into Developer mode and changing the animation timings makes it feel a lot more responsive, But you still keep the flashy visuals. The fingerprint sensor is slow, But the face unlock is so quick, You don't have the opportunity to try use it.

The Positive; Battery life is amazing. I can get 2 days out of it with moderate usage for work. Magic erase works fairly well, Assuming you're engulfed into the google eco system and use Google photos. The Android experience is top notch and the OS is riddled with features I'd even hear of. EG Face based auto rotate (The screen will rotate depending on the orientation of your face, Not gravity) The metric tone of transcribing it can do from live translating to the voice recorder app which can identify different speakers so the notes are concise. (Great for minutes of the meeting).

Overall. Besides some inconveniences, and media selling features we don't have access to. Its a great phone and if you're on the market and its in your price point. 110% This should be your top pick.

Awesome high end phone for the price. 5G works for me on the beta and stable Android version. Pretty much all global features available, but not call screening unfortunately.
