"Prince of Persia... On crack!"
5 stars"

Honestly, this game is awesome, if you've played PoP it's fairly similar style of game play. However, there's less emphasis on puzzles & leap frogging all over the place and more on crushing skulls, beheading & generally causing death to your enemies.

The sound effects are sweet, the background music well suited, I didn't find myself getting annoyed with repetitive music.

The visuals are simply astounding, the fluidity of Kratos as he (you) stops mid swing to block an incoming attack, the way you string combo's together has far surpassed anything I've seen before.

The in-game story sequences are well done, most of which are using the in-game engine rather than a pre-rendered CGI sequence. The pre-renders are there also, for major story events and are top notch, I'd go so far to say they are just as good as Blizzards CGI's in Warcraft3/WoW.

The fighting difficulty was well “ramped”, and usually as you progress along, your weapons are being upgraded to match the new encounters. I did find the very last battle extremely hard, and had to drop the fighting difficulty down. (I was playing on Hero) Once I dropped the difficulty, the last fight was a breeze. (which kind of sucks)

Dropping the difficulty is a neat feature, if you repeatedly die in the same spot (from being mobbed by nasties, or puzzle death) you get the option to lower the difficulty, this only applies to the fighting however, puzzles stay the same difficulty.

The story is fantastic, not slow to progress, but it doesn't reveal all in the 1st 15 minutes & then stay dry for the rest of the game.

Can't wait to see a sequel!

"Blood, women, violence and more"
5 stars"

If you're only going to buy one game this year make it God of War.

Set amidst Greek myths and legends there're plenty of enemies to be getting on with; Gorgans, Medusas, Hydras, Cerberuss(Cerberi?), Minotaurs, Sirens, Harpies and still they come.

The richly rendered graphics leave you gasping in amazement; water so real you'll be wiping your TV screen, flames erupting as the dead are flung onto a raging pyre will heat your face and sandstorms so fierce your eyes will ache.

If you want blood and violence? God of War gives you both – by the bucket full. Your enemies will be reduced to blood clots on the path as your Chaos blades rip them asunder.

The mighty God Ares is attacking Athens and it's up to you, Kratos, to stop him, with a little help from the Gods of course. Medusa gives you her infamous stone gaze, Zeus his lightening bolts, Artemis her ever-sharp blades.

But why Kratos? Why was he chosen above all the other great warriors? You'll find out in God of War.
