The book is divided into two sections: the first is focused on understanding generalist practice, and the second is focused on doing it well. If you look through the Table of Contents and the Subject Matter Index, you will find much material that is familiar though differently packaged, and some models, concepts, and exercises that are hopefully fresh and different, and bring the functional model to life at a pragmatic level that will be useful both in education and for initial experiences as a direct service worker and a line supervisor.
