Plot twists, fantasy, romance, sex, war, and the iron throne… this series really does have it all!

I'd never tried it before but Season 1 was on sale so I did, and suddenly I'd watched the whole season in one go! I just couldn't stop, and you won't be able to either :)

the closest ive ever gotten to liking fantasy shows is true blood which is my favourite. game of thrones took me by surprise and is just as addictive. it has drama, scandal, sex, violence, grit, honour and dishonour, twists and turns. very high quality viewing on such an epic scale. brilliant acting. amazing costumes. it will have you believing that westeros truly once existed. i cant wait to read the books.

I have about 48 friends and 19 family members who have borrowed this dvd and all rave about it and its extras top notch, why wouldn't you want to watch it over and over again. GOOD BUY

I can now understand the “cult” status of this series. Well written and well acted, and the production values are amazing. I have already ordered Season 2 & 3.

A little bit different to the book, but builds the suspense for the next season.

The first series came at you full force making it compulsory to watch the entire series. The lead into with the map of the various tribal areas is fantastic. The acting by the main characters, Iain Glen, the girl, Khaleesi, Sean Bean and particularly Peter Dinklage is excellent, so believable that it creates involvement by us the audience. I don't read fantasy novels so I was surprised that I took to this series, perhaps because I have read historical novels of the middle ages and this story seems to relate in some way similar and I regard this series as a keeper by buying the DVDs.

My sister has been watching this show a lot and she is starting season 3 already. She convinced me to get season 1 and I am glad she did because it is very good. I would recommend it to all of you and you will not be disappointed. Season 1 has 5 discs packed with excitement and fun so sit back and enjoy.

Very complicated and well-written story, requires a person's full attention to understand everything, however. MANY, many characters – so many that it's hard to keep track. However, even with that in mind, the story itself is brilliant and worth a look.

Just a fantastic series.

Brought this for my husband. He loved it, watched it all straight away and now wants the rest. Got a bit of nudity, violence and dragons! Something for everyone

Great special effects, costume design, storyline, acting performances.

If you haven't seen this already, you're crazy!! Best fantasy show ever, and follows the book really well. Highly addictive!!!

I was hooked on this show within the first 5 minutes. It has everything you want in a great television show, however it is not for the squeamish. Can't wait for Season 2!

This show is amazing, took me a few episodes to understand what is going on as it follows a few peoples stories.

Just a really good show, definitely not suitable for kids.

Game of Thrones is a well written, well produced and well acted show. The characters are fantastic and mutli-dimensional. My only complaint is that there are only 10 episodes in a season!

Great series – does the books justice, well worth watching.

Have read the books and HBO has done it again making a great series. Streamlines the books into manageable bites and is just an excellent piece of entertainment. If you havent watched them yet, then buy this now.

All though I had this series recorded I purchased the dvd as a better way of watching it

One of the best TV Shows HBO has done, Sean Bean deserves an Golden Globe after his performance as Ed Stark. It deals with Family, Love, Betrayal, Loyalty, Friendship, all the ingredients for a good television drama. Highly Recommend, Winter is definitely coming !

Doesn't matter if you read the books first or see the series, either way, this is one of the most under rated series ever. The characters are extremely interesting and the actors are a tour de force. Buying these DVDs will be the best investment ever. Can't wait for series 2.

This is a great Boxset. If you like Saptacus you will love this. Juat enough suspense on each episide. If you like Dragons, Knights, war you should watch this series.

i just finished 4 of the books.. and now the 1st season on dvd and i couldnt stop watching it… though it left alot from the book ( of course) it still had u on your sits… and whats makes this so Great is the dwarf he had the short funny lines..

This was the best $55.00 I've spent in years. I enjoyed seeing the series on TV but now I can watch it as often as I like from the comfort of my own home. Can't wait for Season 2 to come out …

Excellent Series that I missed on Sky.

I've now keen to read the remaining books in this series.

I've already pre booked Series 2 and can't wait for them.

I read the books and thoroughly enjoyed the dvds.

I was really annoyed that the series was on Soho and would cost even more to watch than my usual sky account, so pleased I was able to buy the series, but haven't watched it as yet. A pleasure to look forward to.

As Expected …but not much in the way of special features and stuff but I like it that way got what I wanted Season 1.

This series covers a huge canvas in terms of human behaviour. Power – its use and misuse. Weakness – how it brings out both the best and worst. Integrity – duty to an ideal which overrides personal desires. All in all an enthralling story.

Highly recommend game of thrones. Real entertainment at its best. Probably abit rude in some places but does have adult themes. Its the kind of drama that shows men at their best and worst in each kingdom. Great overall fantasy. Can't wait till the next season.

I thought God had reached perfection when he created me. Clearly, he had more work to do. This DVD represents the culmination of that work.

Game of Thrones is a rich, detailed, gory, smutty, amusing and moving feast of a television show based upon an outstanding series of books. I cannot recommend it enough, buy it!

We started watching this on TV, until we found out the channel was only free for a month… However, we were addicted to it and waited with baited breath for the release of the series to come out on DVD… We (my husband and I), were so delighted with the price and product, we would not hesitate to have season two on backorder! A must to see!

This is in my opinion the second best tv series ever(first been Supernatural if you're wondering), its plot, cast,sets are all amazing, in fact every thing about it is amazing.

If your a fan of the books or like mediaeval fantasy then you should buy it, hell just buy it you wont regret it especially with Mighty Apes great price and service.
