Description

If you're on long term disability and thinking of starting or buying a business, you face problems most people don't ever worry about. At the same time, you have two advantages. You have plenty of time to devote to starting the business and you may have a source of capital -- the insurance company that holds your policy. Through this book, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the risks and benefits of operating a business. You'll learn the questions you need to answer beforehand in order to maximize your chances of success. You'll learn how to develop a simple business plan that will help you avoid common pitfalls. This book is not intended to encourage you to go into business, but if that's what you think you want to do, it will help you sharpen your ideas and get into action.

Author Biography:

Since 1986, for over a dozen major insurers, Dan has worked one-on-one with over 2000 people on disability. He has helped people at all income levels, in a variety of previous occupations, in all parts of the U.S. Dan started out primarily helping people find new jobs, but transitioned into mainly assisting those who want to start or buy a business, or purchase a franchise. Dan has a broad background in business. It includes manufacturing, banking, advertising, personal marketing for job search, and consulting on business growth options. As a result, he can be effective with almost anyone, from any background. He has scrutinized thousands of careers in depth, gaining insights into many occupations and businesses. He studied Accounting, Banking and Finance at NYU Graduate School of Business Administration, and his undergraduate degree in Sociology was earned from Holy Cross College in Worcester MA.
