"Thrill without the danger"

Definitely worth buying! This gives hours and hours of fun! I know quite a few pilots and all of them were very excited about how similar this is to real life.

For me, the best thing is to learn about flying aircrafts without risking my life…

The game ran perfectly fine on my computer even with all the settings set to “ultra high”. It might take a minute or so to start up when I set everything to ultra high, but after that, everything ran very smoothly.

My computer specs aren't exactly top-notch: Processor – Intel Dual Core 6600 with 2GB ram.

Definitely recommend buying the right gears though. I bought “Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System” and “Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals”, wanting to get “Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System”.

"Very doubtful." Purchased on Mighty Ape

As requested I advise that I have spent time trying the program on my fairly new HP dektop PC, using the mouse and keyboard. As recommended in the pamphlet I chose Missions, Tutorial 1 – First Take-off. I chose Normal speed. The microlite took off I'll say. It rocketed up like a fighter jet on steroids! While the “instructor' was telling me to ease the nose up gently after I reach 36 mph my altitude was rapidly reaching 5000 ft. At that altitude it started to stall, enabling me to gain control, and I was able to maintain a straight course and constant altitude. I tried to make a gentle left turn but then all the controls failed and I just went round and round at a constant altitude. On a later try I found that the controls F3 and F4 don't work and the plane smashed when I crashed it. The "instructor” said, ‘nice landing’ ! He said the same when I later made some appalling landings, but that is understandable as I didn't break the plane. I could go on … I am reluctant to blame the program because on closer inspection the second-hand disk appears to have been abused before I got it, as evidenced by scratches. John Wood.

"Excellent Prg if you have the processing power AND SP1"

The reviews say it all. This is an excellent program, but you must install Service Pack 1 to get the most out of your frame rates. I went from 50 to 127FPS just installing SP1 (which is free from Microsoft). For older PC's, this is a Processor driven game, so the better the processor, the higher the frames so keep this in mind before upgrading your Video card if you are doing so in the hopes of better FPS. FS Acceleration also helps boost the frame rate. Flightsim.com has numerous add-ons to help the realism. Worthy of a look.

"Good with alternative Equipment."

Great game if you like flight simulators it can run on my non gaming pc so you wont need a good computer to run on low detail.

How ever if you don't have a Joystick or Xbox controller the keyboard layout can be extremely hard to learn and use.

"As Real As It Gets"

This game was the perfect upgrade from my old Flight Simulator 98. It is much more realistic and user friendly than the previous iterations of the games. Add on the Acceleration Expansion Pack and it becomes an even greater experience.

If you're looking for a flight simulator game then this is it. But if you get bored pretty fast then this game might not be for you. This game is just flying planes and helicopters and nothing else, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you want. The part in the game where you do missions is pretty good but if you are just on the part where you choose whatever plane and destination you want then it can get boring after a while.
