Evaluation is a large and growing field with applications to a wide range of disciplines including sociology, social work, social policy, psychology, health, nursing, education and community development, among others. This text explains the different perspectives and needs of researchers and practitioners at the local level in plain, accessible English, and develops a model for small-scale evaluation. It offers a practical approach to the challenges of evaluation research, is well illustrated with examples and is suitable for students and practitioners alike.
