Elizabeth has to deal with her Uncle Victor inheriting the farm her father built after both of her parents die in the plague. She finds her way from England, learning from a duke who sends her to New Orleans where her journey is just beginning. Opening a brothel that attends to the needs of the wealthy man she meets the pirate and profiteer Jean Lafitte and spends six years on Galveztown Island in Lafitte's Cove eventually returning to New Orleans married to Captain Edward Hamilton where she begins her new life as a member of society.
