Author Biography
Professor Jaeyoung Lee is a Vice Director of the Ertl Center for Electrochemistry and Catalysis at GIST, South Korea. He received his doctoral degree in 2001 from Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and FU Berlin, Germany, with Prof. Dr. Gerhard Ertl (Nobel Laureate 2007). He was a senior scientist at Research Institute of Industrial Science and Technology (RIST, 2002-2004) and at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST, 2004-2007), where he developed a stable and cost-effective electrocatalyst for fuel cells and water treatment. His research interests focus on the development and optimization of a number of processes involving Electrocatalysis for hydrogen generation, oxygen and CO2 reduction, liquid fuel oxidation and electrochemical power production, in particular for construction of biocompatible fuel cells for micro medical devices. Professor Lee has authored over 140 scientific publications (papers and patents) during the last 10 years.
