Excerpt from Education and Industrial Efficiency Sir - Owing to the necessity of a reorganization of the Technical High School in the City of Toronto a committee of the Board of Education was appointed to visit certain towns and cities in the Eastern States to make investigation into the question of the most suitable buildings and other matters connected with Technical Education. On the invitation of this committee, and by your direction, I accompanied the deputation, and, on the completion of their work, pursued the investigation alone for a week longer. During the two weeks' tour I visited and examined carefully sixteen schools of various types. The main facts gathered are here set forth. Use has also been made of the catalogues issued by these schools. Much information was gathered respecting buildings, equipment, courses of study, methods of teaching and general organization which cannot here be dealt with but which will be brought to the notice of teachers and trustees as necessity arises and occasion offers.
