Description

Due to growing energy demands, the development of high-energy storage density dielectric materials for energy storage capacitors has become a top priority. Dielectric Materials for Capacitive Energy Storage focuses on the research and application of dielectric materials for energy storage capacitors. It provides a detailed summary of dielectric properties and polarization mechanism of dielectric materials and analyzes several international cases based on the latest research progress. • Explains advantages and development potential of dielectric capacitors. • Discusses energy storage principles of dielectric materials as well as effects of polarization and breakdown mechanisms on energy storage performance. • Summarizes achievements and progress of inorganic and organic dielectric materials as well as multidimensional composites. • Details applications and features international case studies. • Offers unique insights into existing issues and forecasts for future research priorities. With its summary and large-scale analysis of the fields related to dielectric energy storage, this book will benefit scholars, researchers, and advanced students in materials, electrical, chemical, and other areas of engineering working on capacitors and energy storage.

Author Biography:

Haibo Zhang is a full professor in School of Materials Science and Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan China. Before joining HUST in 2011, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Kochi University Japan and Humboldt Research Fellow in Technique University of Darmstadt Germany from 2011 to 2014. His research interests include lead-free piezoelectric ceramics and piezoelectric devices, dielectric materials for energy storage applications. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed SCI research papers and had 20 Chinese patents. Zhang’s research interests include (i) lead-free piezo- and ferroelectrics materials, (ii) dielectric nanocomposite materials for energy storage Hua Tan is currently an assistant professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, China. He received his PhD degree in Advanced Ceramic Materials from Central European Institute of Technology, Brno University of Technology, Brno, Czech Republic, in 2020. He has published over 40 papers and received over 10 patents by now. His primary research interests include the rapid sintering of advanced ceramic materials and the preparation and properties of dielectric energy storage ceramics
