We have been at pains to make the lists, both of Organs and Organists thoroughly representative, and every endeavour has been made to secure full and accurate details for the publication. For the specifications and biographies, consent has been duly obtained, proofs submitted, and correction made. The issue of a book, ranging over so wide a field, necessarily absorbs a considerable amount of time, and we have to express some regret that, even before the pages leave the printers' hands, some few records, mainly of a personal character, are out of date. This was inevitable, but we think it well to mention the fact, believing our readers will judge of our efforts as a whole, and not condemn us because of unavoidable errors and omissions.
