""EPIC FUN""
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Having played the BETA I can say that I had a lot of fun playing this title. I didn't experience any lag while soloing the one and only time I saw any lag what so ever was during a large fire fight where about ten other players were firing rocket launchers that had secondary effects at once with all the other machine gun fire, shotgun fire and grenades being thrown, the epic 20 to 30 man team was causing havoc with massive fire-power. Even with all that fire-power the lag was minimal (and this was just the BETA).

There (all though limited to a set area in the BETA) was a lot of missions, challenges and active action points throughout the map that made playing really enjoyable, and each mission you completed can be redone for more loot or just for fun.

PLAY STYLE The game is a third person/over the shoulder shooter, for the most part it is PVE though there is a PVP element to the game. The best way I can describe the play style would be to say its a typical full free roaming MMO with a Borderlands feel.

LEVELING You level FAST, I mean reallllllly fast within about an hour play time I got to about level 80, now you might be thinking “wow that sucks, get that high that fast, you'll be to overpowered when you hit level cap.” now when the BETA finished I was at level 246 so the level cap is high as in even at 246 I was still leveling, and even at that level mobs can still get the better of you. So even at ridiculously high levels you won't have to worry about being to overpowered not to find the game enjoyable or a challenge. With each level you get a perk point I guess would be the best way to call it that can be used to unlock or upgrade to higher tiers of a perk. You get to choose one power that you use during the game and from that you unlock and upgrade other perks, now you can unlock and use all the powers but they have to be placed on different load-outs. There are a lot of perks and each one can be upgraded.

WEAPONS Listing the weapons would take way to long so lets just leave it at this: Rifles, Shotguns, Machine guns, Launchers, Pistols, Grenades and even more. With Rifles these include Assault and Sniper, Machine guns include, SMG's, SAW's in other words full auto and heavy guns. Trust me when you play the game you will see just how many weapons there are… A lot. Now for each weapon there is a proficiency meter and mastering each weapon gives you extra bonuses and getting them is not easy, I played as a sniper and even then I still had to swap load-outs so I could engage at close range which ment that I was using different weapons which you always seem to do adding to the challenge of mastering a weapon.

MOUNTS Yip there are well the only way to say it there are mounts you are given an ATV early in the game (You need transport to get around the area is just to massive to walk/run) ATV's are not the only transport in the game you can buy new ones and even get awarded with some for completing missions and once you have it you have it and can attach different ones to each load-out or change the one you have easy.

I wont say much about the look of the game or the mobs as what I played was BETA and things may have changed by release but from what I saw in the BETA the look of the game and the mobs were quite polished and as I keep saying even in BETA this title was epic fun to play and I am eagerly waiting for release day and my pre-order to come money well worth spending.

*Please note that every thing I mentioned above was from what I played during a BETA play-through not the final release.
