Very happy this bin does the job. Holds plenty and absolutely no smell thanks to the charcoal filter.

Compared to an ice cream container: doesn't come filled with ice cream and rusted out within a couple of years. Additionally, it was difficult to clean once the rust took hold. However it did do its job of preventing food smells. We've reverted to the ice cream container now.

I had one of these, mind you I didn't buy it from mighty ape but i would not suggest buying one. The charcoal filter is great but i had to keep it fixed to the lid with blutack after a while. But the worst thing is that it rusts! the paint bubbles and then falls off after some months which causes it to rust. I'd suggest Chef'n EcoCroc Compost Bin its brilliant, I know its expensive but its so much better then this product. You'll be kicking yourself if you buy this one in 6 months because its not worth it.

So much more stylish than the previous 2 litre ice cream container! Holds a lot, looks great, no smell or mess.

Bought this as a gift for a friend. It is of high quality with an enamel finish, looks good sitting on the kitchen bench. But there is no inner liner. So you have to give it a good rinse after emptying every time. How simple would it be to have a recycled plastic inner liner (bucket) to keep everything clean. For the price I was expecting one. A lot of others I saw on the Net had one. I would have purchased one of these if I had realised this one did not. Good, but could be better. I would probably advise others to buy one with an inner liner.

I love this item! It is the perfect size and looks super cute sitting on the bench. The charcoal filter in the lid prevents all smells and it is easily washed and dried if it gets a bit yucky inside (both the filter and the bin!) also love the handle feature which is great for trips to the compost heap. All in all a great buy!

This is our second one. The first one ended up with a couple of rust holes after 4 years so we treated ourselves to a new one. We just line with newspaper so less cleaning.

This is in our kindy for the daily scraps before taking it to the worm farm, the charcoal cover really helps with the no smell and it is light enough for the kids to carry.

Blends in with the kitchen reduces smell

Ideal practical size. Lid fits snuggly (won't fall off). Keep in mind that it is just a bucket with protected air vents, however the vents do reduce odours compared to an ordinary lidded bucket. Lost a star for slightly loose handle but very happy overall. Pleased I bought it.

Exactly what I was looking for to deal with compost waste in the kitchen. Large size which holds approx. 1 weeks worth which works really well.

The charcoal liner sits in it really loosely so it doesn’t seal properly! Loads of fruit flies got in mine which = maggots. So disgusting.

Really great and considerably bigger than it looks in the photo – this is a good-sized bin! Very nicely made – doesn't feel cheap at all despite being, well, cheap!
