Description

A Popullar History of the Treatment of the Natives by the Europeans in all their Colonies. First published in 1838. Howitt (1792-1879) was a prolific English writer on history and other subjects who also, with his wife Mary, owned a school which is still used today. He and Mary were both Quakers and collaborated throughout a long literary career which commenced in 1821. This work was later quoted approvingly in Karl Marx's Das Kapital, Vol I.
