How do the life of Jesus Christ and our theological perspective on that life affect the way we work among the poor? What image best mobilizes and empowers the poor to be participants in their own liberation? If Jesus is the model for the Christian life, indeed for idealized humanity, then how should that influence the way we offer the good news of the cross to the materially and spiritually poor? Simply put, valid theology leads to Christ. valid Christology leads to mission. And valid missiology leads us to the poor.
