This version of the the famous clamp Manga “Chobits” has been a pleasure to read. Chobits is about Hideki, a young man who lives in the world of android like computers called persocoms but he is the only person who can't afford one. After he finds one in the trash he begins to judge whether it is right for people to have persocoms and whether they can be more than just computers. During this time he begins to care more deeply about his new persocom that he names Chi and begins to think about her as more than just a computer. This omnibus is excellent, especially with its improved translation compared to the original English release from TokyoPop. It is also a lot cheaper compared to buying 8 separate volumes and is a lot better in an omnibus. This Omnibus also has the added extra of many colour pages printed on glossy paper at the start of each volume and even more at the end. It also stays true to the original Japanese version and is read right to left to make it more authentic. Care has also gone into the different fonts so it is easier to differentiate between persocoms and normal people talking making it a lot easier to understand some conversations. The only downside that can be found with this omnibus is the sheer size of it and how it can be difficult reading it sometimes due to its size. This size also causes the problem of the weak spine which is not adequate for the number of pages crammed in. But apart from theses small problems it was an excellent re-release and I would definitely recommend it to all manga fans and any fan of Chobits.
