Description

"Riveting ... I found myself traveling with the characters." - Robert Bailey, Australia"A lovely read about a place I've been dying to go." - Francis TakisBURDEN STONE, Grand Prize Winner of the 2017 International Faith in Film Screenwriting Competition, tells the inspiring and humorous story of a fired and disillusioned Christian radio couple who set off to walk a 500-mile pilgrimage across Spain.Chris and Emilee Danielson have just lost their jobs as morning hosts, apparently for the crime of being on the wrong side of forty, and no other stations are returning calls. After a chance encounter with a Marine-turned-Catholic priest, they decide to walk the world-famous Camino de Santiago, hoping to find fresh purpose-and maybe some answers-for their lives. But the trail through historic Spain holds more surprises than they imagined. Beginning with the grueling crossing of the Pyrenees, they experience a series of challenges, both physical and spiritual, that leave them more bewildered than ever.... until in the shadow of the Cathedral de Santiago-the pilgrimage's destination, where the bones of Saint James are said to be buried-answers are found where least expected."I don't remember ever reading a book of 170 pages in one sitting! Once I started, I couldn't stop. I have already invited my son to come with me on the Camino." - Rev. David Gooday, Anglican Cathedral of All Saints, Swaziland"We all encounter rough patches on our journey through life but only after we hitchhike along with Chris and Emilee on their challenging and eventful trip do we fully understand the potential blessings waiting for us along the way. BURDEN STONE is a special and inspiring story, a hike well worth experiencing." - Don Keith, author of Firing Point (adapted for the major motion picture Hunter Killer starring Gerard Butler)
