"A fantastic game for music fans."
5 stars"

There are lots of widely varying reviews for this game. If music and rhythm are your favourite genres, the poorer review ratings can safely be ignored.

Here are just a few points I noticed while playing Boogie by myself that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else:

  1. The microphone picks up your voice accurately, but apparently at a low volume unless your mouth is right on the microphone. This is noticeable if you want to use your own voice for making music videos. There is a “mic volume” setting, but it does not considerably increase the volume of quiet singers such as myself. Boogie's microphone appears to be much quieter than the microphone that is included with Singstar on the PS2.
  2. When I made music videos I could only save a maximum of three. Boogie's interface looked as though it would allow room for more than three videos, but it informed me that I was restricted to the game's save slot. Hopefully there are other ways to increase this.
  3. Once you have made a video you can change the audio settings, but to save them you must re-edit your video clip.
  4. The karaoke has an extra challenge when compared to other singing games, such as Singstar. Your score while singing can decrease, even to zero, leaving you and your Boog disappointed about the loss of the score you managed to build up on the choruses.
  5. The Boogie disc may not show in the Wii menu when you insert it. But don't worry – just click on it anyway and the Wii updates to reveal your new game!

Boogie is a fun stylish game with different activities: singing, dancing, making videos and collecting stuff to make them all look good.
