This game is actually quite fun for a 2D fighter with a little bit of card strategy. The premise of the game is based on the 2nd season of the Bleach franchise with all the main characters (and some side ones) available for 2–4 vs matches. The game has various modes for fighting including story, vs, time attack, the usual stuff in a 2D fighter. The fighting itself requires combination d pad inputs to perform special moves that use up spirit energy and spirit pressure (kinda like a Street Fighter game). You can also move between planes (foreground and background) and u also hv the signature use of the “flash step” to dodge or get behind opponents very quick. The cards used in this game give a bit extra strategy to an otherwise beat em up game, where these spirit cards grant special abilities or stat upgrades to the player. Personally I like using the full spirit energy cards so I can use ultimate moves like Ichigo's Bankai (Tensa Zangetsu), or Byakuya's Shukei Hakuteiken easier (which require 3 full spirit energy stocks to use each time). Overall this game is real fun to play and is one of the few Bleach games u can play in english voice over, over all gaming platforms. The fighting is very 80's, 90's arcade style but with better graphics and the use of actual voices. Not a bad game for the DS platform and quite good to play on 3DS aswell.
