Blandford Forum is an attractive town, with a history that goes back to Anglo-Saxon times. By the 13th century it had become an important market town and by 1724 Daniel Defoe described it as `flourishing'. "Publishers can go over the top extolling the virtues of their products. In this case, however, I happily concur that this splendidly illustrated concise history of Blandford Forum will be warmly welcomed by Blandfordians everywhere..." Blackmore Vale Magazine
