The Black Knight Ion Storm XT is the evolution of the original Ion Storm that David Palmer used to win the British Open. Black Knight has updated the technology to include their Power of 6, 16K Hyper Tensile Fibre and Thermal Core technologies. It does not feature the Power Surge technology that is found in many of the Ion series which will provide a bit more feel back to the player. It features a small head geared towards providing excellent control. It is relatively stiff with Black Knight listing its rigidity at 91. It is a 135 gram racquet and features a head light balance. Black Knight lists its dynamic weight at 130 grams. Black Knight has included Ashaway's PowerNick 19 gauge string with the Ion Storm XT. PowerNick 19 provides tremendous cut in to the ball and helps add power due to it being so thin. The red matte finish is not a flashy as the original Ion Storm but does look really nice. If you are looking for a top end racquet that provides excellent control, good power and a bit more feel back to the ball than the other Ion series racquets then the Storm XT is an excellent choice.
