I recently took the time to sit down and watch Season 1 of Battlestar & the mini series. All I can say is that it was well worth the viewing time.
The main story revolves around the conflict which is between the human race and the cylons (man made machines). The cylons evolved and turned against the humans causing war and chaos for years to come. A sudden attack on the humans home planet “Caprica” forces few survivors into space on a relentless mission to find Earth. Captivating enough as it is, Battlestar often has sub plots that keep you guessing on what is next to come and I often found myself saying “…ill watch just one more episode”.
As for production value, special effects, sound, acting etc. Are completely unparalleled to any high standard television series. The CG detailing and effects makes me wonder on the budget they set for each episode, that usually contain beautiful explosions and eye grabbing scenery. I noticed that most episodes seem to contain a trademark “mega zoom” that is mostly used when the pilots are launched from the mother ship; this never failed to impress me. Acting is superb, with such a big cast every actor managed to pull off their character convincingly well. Lets just say fans of “Olmos” will not be let down.
It doesn't take a fan of the Sci-fi genre to enjoy this show. It can easily be watched by most and leave you captivated. In no time you'll be purchasing the next season. This is one “Frakkin” hot show.
