Born in Sheffield and brought up in Elsecar and Hoyland, Geoffrey, an actor/writer by profession, has lived in London for over 35 years.

Author Biography:

Geoffrey Howse, actor, author and local historian, was born in Sheffield and spent his formative years in the village of Elsecar, amidst the great estate surrounding Wentworth Woodhouse, about which he has written extensively. He has lived in London for over forty years but spends a considerable amount of time researching and writing in Barnsley at his family home there. Recent books include: _The Little Book of Yorkshire_, _Murder & Mayhem in Sheffield_, _The A-Z of London Murder_ and _A History of London's Prisons_.
