Their eponymous debut album ‘Baby Animals’ was released in Australia in late 1991. The album debuted at number six on the ARIA Charts and spent six weeks at number one, eventually going eight times platinum, topping 800, 000 sales worldwide and becoming the highest-selling debut Australian rock album of all time (until the release of ‘Jet’s’ debut album 12 years later).
In 1992 the band joined the Black Crowes on a national tour of New Zealand, performing songs from their cracking self titled debut effort which delivered the monster hits ‘Early Warning’, ‘Rush You’ ‘One Word’ and rock radio favourite ‘Painless’.
The band picked up a number of honours at the 1992 ARIA Music Awards, receiving awards for ‘Best Debut Album’, ‘Best Single’, and ‘Best Album’. DeMarchi was also nominated for ‘Best Female Vocalist’.
In 1993, the band returned to New York to produce the follow up ‘Shaved And Dangerous’ which was released in August 1993 to positive reviews applauding the maturation of their music.
With the band’s recent reformation in Australia and acoustic album recorded through the Liberation Blue ‘Acoustic Series’, Liberation Music are thrilled to re - release both studio albums ‘Baby Animals’ & ‘Shaved and Dangerous’ as a ‘special priced’ double CD - having not been available to buy for over 5 years!!
