ASUS RT-AC88U Dual-Band AC3100 Wireless Gigabit Router reviews

This router is the most insane gaming router I have ever bought, my ping went straight from 64 to 12, I just love it! its pretty expensive tho… But if you have got the money then go for it!!!

Plug and play with So much control, traffic management, parental controls, app blocking, etc. No drama with multiple devices. Awesome, easy to use UI and app that goes with it. Great ping for gaming, great range and stability on both bands. Can set up multiple wireless networks and guest networks. 8 gigabit ports… The list goes on. Worth the money.

You won't be disappointed getting this router, works well with NZ UFB services, connect it directly into ONT without issue. I've found that the firmware on this is better than Asus RT-AC87u router.

Super fast router, easy to set up, Great GUI for setting up, adjusting, checking speeds usage etc, No more moaning from my son about lagging/speeds while gaming, max signal strength to all areas of my (wireless unfriendly) house. Looks awesome as well!! Best 500 bucks I've spent.

Expected less ping spikes on games such as League of Legends over the wifi, but this problem is with Spark’s fibre wifi not being consistent. However when streaming Twitch, Youtube on highest settings, it is a breeze even through multiple walls and over 40 meters away. 8 Ethernet slots is amazing. Do not buy this product if you are trying to fix ping issues, it is likely just the fibre, as I find fibre cause much more packet loss than standard internet. Get this router if you want amazing range with a strong signal, use a lot of ethernet cables and want the ability to prioritise connected devices. Has a guest network option which is great. The website allows you to make real time changes to wifi settings, check devices online and their download and uploads, and so much more. For me it is a bit too expensive, but I do not regret the purchase as the wifi range alone is very impressive and it will serve me long-term, very unlikely to replace.

Fantastic router now that I have got it all set up and working – fantastic range. Word of warning to anyone on Vodafone's Fiber X plan want wanting this router – this is a b***h to set up with them and will involve a call to their support team – it will not simply plug and play – you need to fiddle with the router settings before it will detect the internet.

As always, Asus has provided yet another amazing product that exceeds expectations (my last router was the Asus RT-AC66U).

Definitely worth the asking price, especially if you have UFB!
