The concept for Artism was created by Karen Simmons, CEO and founder of Autism Today and author of "Little Rainman". As a parent of a child with autism, Karen wanted find a method of empowering individuals on the spectrum to be their personal best. She joined efforts with Sandra McMurray of Autism Arts to invite submissions for artwork worldwide and received hundreds of emails for consideration. After careful review, fourty-four artists ranging in age from four to fifty one were chosen. This coffee table book displays work from artists such as Mark Rimland, Donna Williams, Amin Collins and many more from across North America and around the world making this a truly global endeavor.
