It does what it says on the tin. It's a brush that lets you paint your armies in insane detail.
As the name suggests, it allows you to get very fine detail. Unfortunately for me, after my first careful use, a small number of the brush hairs started to flair away from the tip. When doing detailed work in close quarters, a single hair our of place has the potential to leave a frustrating mark. My next step will be to apply some brush restorer and see if this fixes the issue. Still good overall, just be very careful with how you treat the brush.
I'm sad it took so many years to find a brush this tiny, and now that I have it has opened up a whole new world for painting. I don't use it for miniatures, but for BJD's, or ball jointed dolls – particularly for eyes and fine details like eyebrow hairs and lashes. Treat it good, and it will serve ya well.
Feels like a used as the hairs on it is very few and not good at holding the paint don't have much control over the brushes
This brush will not give you fine motor control. It will not auto-paint space marine pauldrons perfectly, it will not make eyes easy, it doesn't magically make you a better painter. It does, however, do specific things EXTREMELY well to a level of detail otherwise unachievable and I do not regret my purchase at all. Just don't get “noob trapped” thinking your Small Layer Brush is holding you back and what you really need is this one (then again, it's $15 – what do you have to lose?)
This is a good brush but not excellent. One of the problems is having a short body for loading the paint (maybe on purpose, but depending your technique it might dry fast and you will need to keep recharging while targeting an eye). The tip is OK and fine but you can get the same with cheaper brushes like Jasart. I still use it, but rarely.
This brush has been so good to use for tiny detailing, like faces and highlighting. When I do use it, however, the bristles go apart and don't stay in shape so it can get a bit messy, I have to wet my brush after each stroke just to make sure it stays neat. Overall, good brush!
So fine, and the great handle. Makes a huge difference to painting details on minis.
Wonderful tool to have. Really precise. Enables you to paint tiny details of you kit. Must have for those who weather too.
It's around a 0 size
Keeps its tip well, lovely to use. Lasts well
One of the best brushes i have used . Great for everything and a good allrounder,If you cant afford to get both this brush and the Psycho brush i would say just grab this one. With a steady hand and a nice point you can get 99% of all fine details done with this brush :D
It's so good you can paint pimples on figures.
Compared to many brushes used for miniatures, this is the holy grail. I was disappointed that mine had a few stray hairs and a “tail tip,” but a very careful trim with a craft knife got it up to speed. Affordable and effective – the ultimate in miniature brushes without forking out a fortune.
If you're painting miniatures, then this is one of the most useful brushes you can have. It's a worthwhile investment.
