The results of our first year have been published and accepted by the people of the second, it can be safely assert ed that the same care, forethought and economy have been practiced as in the preceding. The schools have increased in number, and we believe in usefulness causing a larger expenditure for support and furniture. N o reason exists why our people should not be proud of their schools. The roads, streets and walks, are in excellent condition. The substantial and permanent improvements, time and ex pense considered, have not been inconsiderable, and are of solid worth. The Superintendent of Streets has been faithful and impartial. The Eliot Bridge Road and Fresh Creek Bridge have been built at an expense of 3.
