Description

Excerpt from Annual Report of Program Activities, Mental Health Intramural Research Program, Vol. 1: Division of Clinical and Behavioral Research, Division of Biological and Biochemical Research, and Division of Special Mental Health Research; July 1, 1976 September 30, 1977 The story of this year is in the reports to follow in which the Chiefs of our intramural basic Laboratories and clinical research Branches summarize the scientific events of the past 15* months. I will not further summarize that material here. The efforts of our scientists during this period continued generally at an outstanding level of effectiveness, despite the shortage in staff and money which have characterized nimh research programs for several years. The comments in this Annual Report by Dr. Cohen on the logic of increased support of research, and by Dr. Wyatt, on the rhetoric of enhanced support, are both highly relevant.
